finally got around to getting it off

For those that enjoy watching intense builds, blu808 in norcal has an ongoing series following their formula-d C6 'vette build.  The latest is episode 4, and I've enjoyed all 4.  watch for the drunk asian chip foose in episode 3.

Please refrain from working before 8am, or I will continue to have dreams where people are trying to barge through my front door, only to wake up to your radio that is constantly blasting justin timberlake, avril lavigne, kelly clarkson, and other musics that I don't want to hear at 7 in the morning.

Exhaust mani is not off yet, as I need to source an angle grinder to get through the bolts. Steering rack bushings have been changed out.

smog/reg deadline is getting dangerously close, and I have 4 midterms before then.  yeesh.

finally troubleshooted my exhaust leak. broken welds on my stock ass exhaust mani.  gheeeeeyyyyyyy. (you can see I rotated the flange w/ the broken weld)  This was my exhaust's cry for help from being banged on the ground 1 too many times.  This also explains why my midpipe had lowered itself a bit.
aaaand one from the bottom.
Now to figure out how to take the 2 bolts out that hold the whole mani on under the cat so that I could take it out and get it re-welded.  damn stuck ass bolts.  Dremel? hmmmmm

A ticket.

I turned left into a Chevron yesterday to fill my SC up.  Right inside hiding behind a wall was a bike cop, posted up for speeders. Right as I pulled in, I saw little piglet ears perk right up on top of his helmet as we made eye contact.  I situated myself next to a gas stall to fill up and he came over and yelled "LICENSE AND REGISTRATION", which I honestly couldn't make out the first few times due to traffic roaring by (probably speeding).
Apparently that left turn that I had been making for the last 2 years had been illegal due to there being 2 double-yellow lines, whoops.  He told me he could technically get me for being on the wrong side of the road as well b/c of my angling (bs) but only wrote me up for crossing the yellow lines.
Filled up, got the ticket from the piglet, threw all that behind me, and went on my way to santa monica to pick up a welded diff.. Somewhere along the way, I developed an immense exhaust leak and my cat seemed to have lowered itself a couple inches,  as I was scraping it every 10 feet.
No, i don't have ricer blue LED's, they're supposed to be white.
I'll run some seafoam through to make finding the exhaust leak easier, but I'm guessing the EGR or exhaust mani gasket.
smog to come soon, so I need to get this fixed by then.  Steering rack bushings have been ordered, welded diff is in my possession, and control arm bushings should be going in within the month.

Went to a weekly lexus meet w/ intentions to pass the time w/ my r/c.  turns out my r/c decided not to work with me, so that plan flew out the window..  went anyway and was pleasantly surprised by non-lexus' (mainly mr2's and miaters) who apparently came down into the underground parking lot where our meet was to do a photoshoot session, not  knowing there was a meet going on, but they stayed anyway. and thank god they did.  oddly enough, I spent 90% of my time in the section w/ no lexus. hmmm

Then I jumped into cody's photoshoot (who surprisingly remembered me) to snap some super-quick shots

Then did an impromptu shoot w/ brian's sc, with my ISO blaring at 2000 b/c of the lack of light.

And my car parked all alone in the dark corner..

And to kick off the new year, I cleaned out a lot of my room and found isht I haven't seen for decades. like....
Then finished up my new r/c project.
Novak 10.5t brushless system, futaba s9551 digital servo, airtronics mx-3x 2.4ghz transmitter, and a tamiya ta05 ver.2 kit.  pretty damn torquey, and a pretty fun car.  though i already broke one of my solders. quick 5 min fix.  and my tires came off about 6 times.

Now that I've finished building these, I can now work on real cars while playing a bit w/ my small fake ones on the side.  Next to come are smog for the sc, install front suspension bushings, drop the subframe to get and install subframe bushings along w/ the rear suspension bushings, buddy club seat rails.  and work on the rear part of my lip kit.
